I'm a sucker for quotes.
All kinds. Clever song lyrics, a line from a speech, that great scene in your favorite movie, the closing lines of a good poem, and even daily conversation. The list could go on and on, but you get the point. I'm constantly on the lookout.
Why are quotes so important? They're just words! Yeah that's true but they have this profound impact on me and I believe that is true of other people too. A good quote can frame an argument in a way that no amount of data can. A good quote can inspire. It can change everything.
I have many quotes to share. Some will be used to demonstrate a point for a given topic. I may explain how I came to know the quote or what it means to me. I may let certain quotes just explain themselves.
The following quote is one I heard just yesterday. It seems fitting to share this one on the heels of the elections.
"So my plea to the victors -- whoever they might be: please withdraw from your respective parties and govern as independents in name and in spirit. It is probably the biggest contribution you can make to the country."- Sergey BrinYou can read the full post here.
