Some of the most important time a person can spend is time spent reflecting. That means getting out of the everyday grind mentality and taking time to stop and think. It involves forcing yourself to ask big questions and being thoughtful about what you stand for and why.
This blog serves that purpose for me. I hope that others find my posts interesting and will consider how they might apply some of the content to their own lives, but at the end of the day that's a secondary objective. This blog is about me taking the time to think about what's important to me and why.
Here are some of the things that I like to think about:
As I try to formulate answers to these questions they can quickly spiral into additional questions and thoughts. Often times I don't know the answers. At least not in their entirety, but I think that's okay. The reality is I think most people are going to have different answers depending on the day. It's just important to be asking the questions and living intentionally. I don't want to wake up and realize my life is gone and I've never really lived.
"Ready. Fire. Aim."
I don't know the origin this quote, but it's kind of funny to think about. It's so easy to fall into the trap if you're not reflecting. Don't get me wrong though... a certain amount of spontaneity is great. You need to be open and willing to take an adventure from time to time, but don't get caught staggering through life without cause or direction. Our time is too precious to waste.
